Return

“He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:3, KJV)

You want to do good for yourself and for God but one of the most important things that will help you do that is maintaining your relationship with Christ.

Jesus is the only way to the Father. Jesus is the One who speaks on our behalf on the throne. We need to be spending quality time with Him every single day.

Have you ever heard of the circumstance that the more you hangout with a person the more you become like them? Well the same goes with Jesus. The more you hangout with Him the more you become like Him.

Ways to spend time with Him:
1. Reading the Bible
2. Praying
3. Worship music
4. Solitude
5. Including Him in your entire day (Invite Him with you).

Jesus doesn’t just give you what you need; Jesus is what you need. Your heart was created by Him, for Him. You can fight and claw to gain the world, but without Jesus, you will never be completely satisfied.

Feeding on the Word of God:

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”

John 6:35, ESV.

The Holy Spirit came to give us power to know and live for Christ.

The Holy Spirit came once Jesus returned to His throne in Heaven. The Holy Spirit was sent to us by Jesus. (John 16:7).

“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not on me”; John 16:8‭-‬9 KJV. ⬅️ Here I feel God is saying that the Holy Spirit will reprove (Strong’s 1651: (a) I reprove, rebuke, discipline, (b) I expose, show to be guilty. Of uncertain affinity; to confute, admonish.) of sin. Which is neat to see that the Holy Spirit is who will be doing these things.  It also gives us insight of the coming judgment and the reason of it.

“of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” John 16:11 KJV. A devotion I read today mentioned the fact that the Holy Spirit uses the Bible to speak to us since it is the Word of God and it is alive and active. (Which this is confirmed in the Bible as well). It notes, “the Holy Spirit makes the Word of God relevant and meaningful when you need it.” I just wanted to note how true this is. The fact that John 16:11 mentions the devil running the world basically, to an extent,  shows me that God does speak through His word to us, because eariler today during the kids I watch over nap time, I was able to read the Word with the Holy Spirit, and it spoke of the very same thing! In short. It would take me way to long to explain what else was said, but in short what a connection! (Read 1 John through Jude if you’d like!).

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
John 16:13 KJV. The Holy Spirit is God but the Holy Spirit is like a telephone line. A line between the Father and us.
•v.14 it is so interesting again how God connects the dots to give us a better understanding. You see God explained to me in Proverbs 2 that if you ask for insight,  God is more than glad to give it to us. And somewhere today He even said that it gives Him the utmost JOY when we seek His truth from Him Himself! The reason why it gives Him joy is because He wants good for us. So He is the best place to get the knowledge of truth.  Not YouTube,  not word of opinion,  not from the interpretation of random dreams from multiple people, but from HIM directly. Sometimes I think we get so caught up in all that stuff that we forget that we have access to the Most High Himself! And when we do that doubts and insecurities slip in. I believe God is ushering us in again to remind us of this fact and to make it a habit to return to Him with an open heart to seek, find, listen.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”
(John 7:37 KJV). Lastly,  notice here in this verse that Jesus cried when He was stating what He said. This expresses to us how much it means to Him. If we thirst for Him, if we thirst for His knowledge,  truth, wisdom , etc… He is eager and so so so happy that we do and are willing. He wants to hear from us, so exceedingly so, that He teared up when telling His disciples. He says let them come. Anyone willing. I am here. In any moment, any time, that you need me child.

    Everything about this is 🔥🔥🔥
So good, my dear! God’s Word is alive and active! Holy Spirit is speaking to us! I love how you described Him as being like a phone line to God. Jesus is absolutely everything we need!!! He doesn’t force himself on us, but we wants us. He desires that we come to him to know him and have that close relationship with him ❤️ Thank you for this! Super encouraging and glorifying to our Father! ❤️
